On August 25, the 42-year-old shared a photo of herself on Instagram and got candid about the weight-loss journey she embarked on a year ago. Although Tia gave fans an update about how many pounds she’s lost, her focus was on encouraging women to take their time rediscovering their bodies. The Sister, Sister alum and her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, have a 9-year-old son, Cree, and a 2-year-old daughter, Cairo.
“I’ve lost to date 68 pounds since giving birth to my daughter. I’m very proud that I did it my way and in my time,” she captioned a bathroom selfie. “I didn’t feel rushed to snap back. I enjoyed breast feeding and spending quality time with #cairo and my son #cree. To all the women who are feeling pressured after birth. Do YOU! Do what makes YOU proud and do it in YOUR time. Not anyone else’s.❤️.”
Fans of the Family Reunion star immediately took to the comments section to share their love and support. So far, the post has amassed more than 321,000 likes with 4,000 comments and counting.
“And this is just ONE of the many reasons I love you, Tia 💕,” one person wrote. “So happy for you Tia! You are such an inspiration 💕,” another added. “Love this message! You look incredible ❤️😍,” a different fan said. “You look AMAZING!!! Thank you for this 💜,” a follower commented.
In November 2019, she gave fans a closer look at her progress on her YouTube channel, Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix. “One of the main reasons that I started was not to lose weight,” she said in the video. “It was about moving again and being part of a routine that was about me.”
Tia also learned an important aspect about herself in the process. “I worked really hard,” she said. “I learned that I am bada–. I’m a super mom, I really am. And I believe that women can do anything they put their mind to.”
