A house has gone up for sale in Greater Manchester but buyers will likely need a couple of green thumbs to tackle the overgrown back garden.

Although the garden might be a bit of a daunting prospect to some buyers, a man from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, recently showed us all what a bit of hard work can achieve after he created a full-on Mediterranean-style paradise in his garden complete with swimming pool, a hot tub sheltered in a large wooden gazebo, a swing seat overlooking the pool and a built-in BBQ and cocktail bar.
Guy Young spent a very reasonable £6,500 ($3,700) creating his dream garden and carried out all work by himself after watching YouTube videos for inspiration and tips.
The 34-year-old spent around two years working on the garden with the help of a couple of pals and completed it last month.
Guy said: “When the sun is out it definitely feels like I’m on holiday in Spain, especially when I’m sat in the pool drinking a margarita.
“I have no previous building experience at all, it was all done by watching YouTube tutorials and by trial and error. I am really proud with what I have achieved but also very shocked I was able to do it.”
To keep costs down Guy even hand-dug the 12ft by 5ft by 5ft pool.
“The digging part took one-and-a-half months,” he said. “After that we had to laying the base using reinforced concrete. We had to hand-mix one tonne of concrete.” Good effort, mate.
