An arrest has been made after a woman was found dead in her bathroom, according to Gaffney police. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said Monica Vinson Shackleford’s son went to a next door neighbor’s home about 8 a.m. Tuesday when he could not get into a bathroom his mother was in.Shackleford, 43, of Lyman Street was found dead on the bathroom floor, Fowler said.Evidence at the scene indicated the death was the result of a homicide, according to Fowler.James Eric Spencer has been charged with murder in the case, Gaffney police said. They said after interviewing witnesses and taking statements Spencer was identified as the suspect. Police said he was arrested in Spartanburg.
