Cheval Blanc St Tropez An Exquisite Invitation To Relax By The Sea

Leaving the waters of the splendid East, the Sun leapt up into the brazen firmament to bring light to the immortals and to mortal men on the fruitful earth” The Odyssey, book 3, Homer.

“The setting is incomparable” tells renowned French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte who designed the idyllic property. “It is the only hotel in St Tropez positioned directly on the seafront and there is no doubt that the spirit of the place is Mediterranean. It is truly unique.” His words sum up everything.

Cheval Blanc St Tropez is definitely beyond all expectations, like the four other Maisons of the exceptional portfolios owned by LVHM group. Randheli, Courchevel, St Barths and a fifth scheduled to open this year in Paris. Each maison celebrates its own identity wherever they are located. A perfect alchemy between tradition and innovation, local architecture and timeless elegance.

Cheval Blanc St Tropez -the former Residence of La Pinède- is a marvel and owns a strategic location-just at the entrance of the town and right on the beach. The property offers a magnificent window over the Mediterranean Sea with its incredible blue azure color and pure light which is omnipresent all around the hotel. In the 3o rooms and suites the light goes through the terrace to the bathroom, filtered by the internal sliding shutters projecting graphic shadows on the rough sawn and bleached parquet. An elegant composition of great purity and transparency. Add divine views of the Mediterranean sea, pine forest and the village of Saint Tropez. Subtle and refined.

The property-which got the palace distinction in 2019- has been delicately designed by Jean Michel Wilmotte who found his inspiration in the art of living specific to Cheval Blanc houses. Mr Wilmotte perfectly valued the charm and comfort of the spaces while respecting the original spirit of the place. His contemporary and timeless signature has given the house a new renaissance. He kept the original story and the charm of the family home in its Mediterranean environment: sand with warm tones, clear woods with soft veins and marked like the beaches of the coast. The decor of the palace was also drawn by the ceramist artist Roger Capron. A beautiful fresco is present in  the main part of the property which has been the main guideline in the design of the palace. The interiors punctuated by a whole palette of new shades of blue are in harmony with the Mediterranean horizon and underline the nuances. Furniture and ceramics, painting and textiles, books of L’Odyssey in the rooms and travel books in the library -each thoughtful element orchestrates the permanent dialogue with the Mediterranean through the strong presence of the color blue- the color of the Maison. This unique palace is managed by the so welcoming and kind General Manager Olivier Raveyre who brings a joyful and relaxed ambiance. You definitely feel at home.

A haven of wellness.

Ready for sensory journeys? Cheval Blanc Guerlain Spa is directly connected to the hotel entrance by a glass staircase. This space is again punctuated by the light of the overhead cupolas which guide the guest to the fil de l’eau along the large treatment rooms. A temple of softness and wellbeing designed in a colored palette of soothing bright shades. On the wall, the spiritual language shadows of Belgian  visual artist Fred Eerdekens’ poetic artworks guide you to the spa. A treasure room -the boudoir room offers haircuts and all beauty and make up Guerlain products. An intimate cocoon. Add of course, a steam room, an experience shower, a snow shower, an ice fountain, a fitness room and open area meditation space. Here, outside surrounded by olive trees, experience a Hrim Yoga class with osteopath and physiotherapist Patrice le Pihive. A mix of holistic osteopathy and ayurvedic energetic care which gives you a deep personal search of relaxation, openness and well-being. An exceptional and impressive collection of Guerlain Perfumes are showcased and embedded  in the wall, they call it La cave au Parfum. So chic.

Extraordinary culinary escape.

At night, an unforgettable experience at St Tropez’s only three-Michelin star restaurant, La Vague d’Or is mandatory. Every night, renowed chef Arnaud Donckele creates a sensorial Mediterranean experience. A moment between sea and earth where time can definitely stand still. A refined gourmet exploration of infinite tastes, colorful local products, aerial texture without any artifice.

Lunch and breakfast are served on the terrace under the pine trees with the songs of the cicadas overlooking the sea in the riviera breeze. Again, everything is well thought from the home made bread trolleys to the home made granolas trolleys. The detox breakfast is a destination in  itself.  Not to be missed.

There are some places you can never forget, Cheval Blanc St Tropez is one of them.
