This ‘Nano House’ on wheels has a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom

  • Netherlands-based Haaks has created a tiny home with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom that can be placed on a mobile platform.
  • The “Nano House” is almost 20 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 11 feet tall.

Text description provided by the architects. Life in the city is something that everyone tries to escape. It is full of cars, noises and things that assault our senses. By stepping out of our comfort zone, we gain the ability to try a new lifestyle. The property is adjacent to the low-density residential area of the Agongdian Reservoir in mountains of Kaohsiung. A green slope was created under the suspended wall on the second floor of the main building facing the southward hilly land. The natural grassy slope in the courtyard echoes the greenness of the hillside slope and extends the public space for the family.

The Master Bath is a large full bathroom with separate tub and shower stall.

Under Franklin Pierce, running hot baths and showers came to the family floor, likely with a wood-stalled commode and porcelain sink. It had faux wood wallpapering and faux tile cloth flooring. By Lincoln’s time, running water for washing came in from the Potomac River.

Only two bathrooms served the pre-1900 family quarters. One was for the presidential bedchamber; the other, a “family bathroom” for everyone else, including guests, had three doors in addition to having partitions only head-high, making compartments for lavatories, toilets and bathtubs. With the 1902 renovation, modern bathrooms with silver faucets and handles and white porcelain were created in the four corner suites and tucked in elsewhere.
